We are wrapping up the First National Bank of Waynesboro's Veterans Day special for Nov. 6 and need photos of the following persons: Eugene R. Swint, William P. Woods, Wayne C. Leon, Jack Lively, Mathew W. Lively and William H. Barnes.
Please help us locate these photos by Friday.

This has been nearly a year-long project and we're looking forward to the edition.
Folks who have submitted their loved ones' photos to us can begin picking them up at The True Citizen office after Oct. 30.

This is a project that I have enjoyed working on very much. It has given me an opportunity to become more familiar with some people in our community and to hear the stories about their loved ones.

I applaud First National Bank of Waynesboro for their sponsorship and their continued support and being a friend to Burke.
The Nov. 5 election is only 13 days away, and the political ads on television and radio have been nasty!

If a candidate has done any good during his adult life you wouldn't know it by all of the slanderous advertisements.

I've seen signs throughout the countryside in Coastal Georgia and they read: "How Would Jesus Vote?" Strong words for the Nov. 5 election. Regardless of the mudslinging, make your vote count Nov. 5!
Georgia got some really good news last Friday with the announcement of Diamer-Chrysler plans for locating an assembly-line plant in Pooler. Many, many good paying jobs for Georgia and the spin-off of business from the plant looks tremendous, too!
The announcement was perfect timing for our governor's re-election. Whatever ... our state and our community need jobs!
I hope your Thursday-Saturday plans include attending the first annual Farm Fest sponsored by the Waynesboro Shrine Club.
The festival kicks off with the talent show on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Burke County Office Park Auditorium.

Talent from the following include Lisa Walraven, Laura Stone, Collin LaBlanc, Derrick Dixon, Glori Helms, Kelly Flakes, Leah Smith, Cotton Country Cloggers, Rachel Brady, Jessica Mooney, Sammy Seay, The Adams, The Pulleys, Lindsey Crozier Group, Whitney Webster, Carly Saxon, Natalie Clark, Will Wade, Al McClain, April Cunningham, Tedrick Kelly Group, Treasure Pinkston, Terry Ivey, Emily Dixon and entertaining during the judging will be songwriter, Archie Jordan, from Perkins.
The event will be a fun-filled family entertainment and all for a good cause ... to salute our farmers ... no farmers, no food!

Friday, there will be living history at the Waynesboro-Burke County Museum
On Saturday, a ceremony will kick off at 8 a.m. in honor of battered women, and the parade gets underway at 10 a.m. for the Farm Fest. Vendors will be in downtown Waynesboro all day. Come and join the fun and honor our farmers!
Thank you, Shriners for your interest in our community!!!
